Today on World Wildlife Day we share the story of a stranded long-beaked common dolphin that SeaWorld Rescue recovered in late January. He was found at roughly 6 months old, undernourished and suffering from a broken jaw. The SeaWorld Rescue team gave 24-7 care during the early weeks of his recovery, staying with by his side during even the worst of our recent rainstorms. For the second time this year, SeaWorld Rescue has been able to rescue and stabilize an abandoned dolphin calf. After being discovered near the South Bay Salt Flats, this young calf was found near its deceased mother and was estimated to be 1 – 2 months old. The rescue team administered round-the-clock care and we are excited to share that he has now reached a healthy weight, thanks to the tireless efforts of the rescue team. | SeaWorld San Diego
