Baby penguins, or chicks, form strong bonds with their caregivers, whether it’s their biological parents or human caretakers in rescue centers or zoos. In the wild, penguin parents take turns feeding and keeping their chick warm, using vocal calls to recognize each other in a noisy colony. When a baby penguin bonds with a human caregiver, it may show affection by snuggling, following them around, or even giving little “hugs” by pressing its body close. While doing this, the chick often makes hig
