Geronimo was a Chiricahua Apache that lived in Arizona as well as Mexico. He was captured September 4th of 1886 in Skeleton Canyon. What’s interesting about this display is that it’s a variety of different items that help tell Geronimo’s story. You see, after he was captured, the entire band was taken to Florida and then back to Oklahoma, where Geronimo was imprisoned for decades. One of the items that interests me is this piece of textile.
