🏈 The Game-Ball Run tradition started in the 1970s with a yearly Virginia Tech football game against Virginia Military Institute, then played at Victory Stadium in Roanoke. Students with the Ranger Company would run the game ball from Blacksburg to Roanoke ahead of the rivalry matchup Now, the tradition involves running the game ball around Virginia Tech's Blacksburg campus, giving Hokies the opportunity to touch it and impart good luck to the team.
