Residents of Travis County, Texas, one of the areas hit by the deadly July 4 Hill Country floods, told state lawmakers on Thursday that “nobody came for us” immediately after the floods hit. The testimony was given as state lawmakers gathered in Kerrville to hear from local officials and residents about the disastrous weather event that left more than 130 people dead across Central Texas, including more than half a dozen in Travis County.
