U.S. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. visited Seminole, the epicenter of the measles outbreak, which started in late January and continues to swell — with nearly 500 cases in Texas alone.

About 500 Texans, mostly young unvaccinated children, have contracted the disease. The U.S. health secretary is expected to come to Texas.

A second child has died from the highly contagious measles virus as an outbreak in western Texas continues to grow. The school-aged child was not vaccinated, had no underlying health conditions and was in hospital suffering complications from measles, Aaron Davis, the vice president of UMC Health System, told the BBC.
