It's hard to become the first to ever do something in the Knicks long and storied history, but Josh Hart and Karl-Anthony Towns did just that on Tuesday night against the Mavericks: Towns and Hart became the first Knicks teammates to get triple-doubles in the same game during a comfortable home win against the shorthanded Mavericks (no Anthony Davis on the second night of a back-to-back).

On a night when Josh Hart broke a New York Knicks franchise record that stood for 56 years, he decided to give the game ball to a teammate who played three minutes. It was just one more unselfish play in a season full of them for the eight-year veteran.

Hart etched his name into the franchise record books, tallying 16 points, 12 rebounds, and 11 assists for his ninth triple-double of the season, surpassing Clyde Frazier’s 56-year-old record for the most in a single season.
