Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Sunday (August 3) that he was "deeply shocked" as he watched the "horrifying" videos released by Hamas of Israeli hostages Evyatar David and Rom Braslavski that showed both of them in deteriorating physical and mental conditions.

Hamas announced on Sunday that it would conditionally permit aid to be delivered to hostages in Gaza, so long as Israel would cease its airstrikes in the region. The Palestinian nationalist Islamic paramilitary organization said it would allow the Red Cross to deliver supplies and much-needed aid to the hostages Hamas has in Gaza,
