Claire's, an iconic tween jewelry and accessories store, has filed for bankruptcy. The company announced that a handful of stores are closing immediately and hinted that over a thousand locations could close.

As Claire's seeks a buyer to avoid liquidation, the fate of numerous retail jobs and thousands of square feet of New Mexico retail space hangs in the balance.
