The Calgary Flames didn’t expect to be in a position where they were pondering about being sellers at the NHL Trade Deadline. It seemed like a foregone conclusion that at least Rasmus Andersson would be heading out of town.

NHL trade deadline is Friday. It’s the time of year when we see teams that will be missing the playoffs ship out expiring contracts for future pieces and contenders go all in for a chance at a Stanley Cup championship parade.

The trade deadline has come and gone and the Calgary Flames made zero trades. That was to be expected. Prices for rentals were very high. And Flames general manager Craig Conroy stated publicly that we had no intention to trade veteran players.

CALGARY -- Dustin Wolf made 26 saves to help the Calgary Flames hold on for a 1-0 win against the Montreal Canadiens at Scotiabank Saddledome on Saturday. It was Wolf’s third shutout of the season, setting a Flames rookie record and tying him for the NHL rookie lead with Leevi Merilainen of the Ottawa Senators.

Joel Farabee scored the only goal and Dustin Wolf made 26 saves as the Calgary Flames moved back into a playoff spot with a 1-0 victory over the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday night.
