Michigan basketball looked the part for most of the game, but totally ran out of gas late in its loss to Auburn in March Madness.

Freshman Tahaad Pettiford and senior Denver Jones turned in dazzling performances when it mattered most, rallying top-seeded Auburn to a 78-65 victory over Michigan in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament.

Michigan, meanwhile, is out of the NCAA tournament in the Sweet 16 in its first tournament appearance since 2022. The Wolverines have advanced to the Sweet 16 in each of their last six tournament appearances dating back to a first-round loss as a No. 11 seed in 2016.
