The Trump administration's new tariffs went into effect this week, imposing a 25% tax on all Canadian and Mexican imports and a 20% tax on Chinese imports.
"We're not just breaking ground. We're breaking the cycle of poverty," Central Texas Food Bank CEO Sari Vatske said during Tuesday's groundbreaking for the $25 million facility.
