It’s still possible the recently released Jets quarterback could make an in-person visit to the Giants after spending time with the Steelers. He owns a house in Cedar Grove, N.J., so it would not be difficult for him to stop in East Rutherford.

Aaron Rodgers has gone from the beaches of Malibu to the Steel City. The ex-Jets quarterback is visiting the Steelers’ facility on Friday and is expected to meet with their coaching staff and personnel as his free agency waiting game continues, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported.

Winston’s deal is identical to the one the Steelers gave to Mason Rudolph, minus the incentives. Known as a volatile player, Winston’s deal does not preclude the Giants from making any other moves, but it gives them a proven backup quarterback that can step in for a starter at any point.

The New York Jets signed Justin Fields to compete to be their starting quarterback in 2025. But Fields had a decision to make, too. The 25-year-old signed a two-year deal in New York. Last season he played for the Pittsburgh Steelers and they reportedly wanted him back.
