Tropical Storm Erin is expected to strengthen into a hurricane later this week in the Atlantic Ocean, according to the National Hurricane Center.

Tropical Storm Erin continues to move quickly to the west and is expected to begin strengthening and become a hurricane Aug. 14 or 15.

Tropical Storm Erin is expected to begin strengthening Wednesday, Aug. 13. The storm is forecast to become a hurricane by Aug. 15 and a Category 3 storm with 120-mph winds by Sunday, Aug.
