The "No Kings" protests have taken aim at President Donald Trump's policies, particularly his decision to deploy the National Guard and Marines to Los Angeles.

Tens of thousands of demonstrators took to the streets across Southern California on Saturday to voice their concerns over ongoing immigration raids and oppose the policies of President Trump, who they depicted as an aspiring monarch.

NBC News correspondent David Noriega reports on the ground in Los Angeles, CA as citizens march in the 'No Kings' protests. "There are a lot of people out here who are the children of immigrants... They feel personally that a lot is at stake for them with these protests,

“The most threatening sound to an oligarch is laughter.”

Around 2,000 protests were planned on Saturday in opposition to President Donald Trump. Large crowds turned out in cities like Portland, Denver, Chicago, Houston and Los Angeles – and in smaller communities in traditionally conservative areas.

Protesters held signs that read, “No kings since 1776,” “Bad Things Happen When Good People Do Nothing,” “Stop the Parade Fund Medicaid,” “When cruelty becomes normal compassion looks radical” and “Make Orwell Fiction Again.”
