Shane Van Gisbergen was not to be denied Sunday in Mexico City, putting on an incredible run in the closing laps of the event to win the Viva Mexico 250, his second career win in the NASCAR Cup Series.

It is van Gisbergen's second Cup Series win after claiming the inaugural Chicago Street Race in 2023. Per NASCAR Insights, he is the first driver since Marvin Porter in 1960 to win his first two races in inaugural races at a track. His 16.567-second margin of victory is the largest in the Cup Series since Kurt Busch at Texas in 2009.
