In an effort to stave off another sluggish start to the season, the Cincinnati Bengals played many of their starters in Thursday’s preseason opener against the Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field.

Quarterback Joe Burrow and the offensive starters were impressive in one quarter of action but the Cincinnati Bengals ultimately dropped their first preseason game 34-27 against the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday night.

Joe Burrow led a clinical long touchdown drive to take a quick lead and set up the defense well on the road. It involved a few nice plays to Ja'Marr Chase, albeit against a less-than-full-strength Eagles backup defense.
