East Carolina University has put an announcement out on the adjustment of courses to comply with new federal contracting requirements. The university stated that effective immediately, they will stop requiring diversity courses for general education and specific majors.

UNC General Counsel Andrew Tripp in the announcement to all system chancellors acknowledged a recent executive order by President Donald Trump.

It places new restrictions on federal contracts, requiring institutions to certify that they do not operate DEI programs that it deems in violation of federal anti-discrimination laws. Schools that fail to comply risk losing federal funding and potential enforcement actions.
