As college students across the country wrap up their fall 2025 semesters, finishing grueling finals and preparing to head home for the holidays, students at Brown University in Rhode Island ended theirs abruptly after a mass shooting on campus Saturday killed two of their own and wounded nine others.

The USC and Brown University men's basketball teams have canceled their game on Sunday after the Rhode Island campus was the site of a deadly mass shooting over the weekend.

Professor Rachel Friedberg confirmed to other media outlets that the attack occurred during a review session for her principles of economics class. A Brown student on TikTok explained that the shots were fired in Room 166, one of the large auditorium-style lecture halls on the first floor of the seven-floor Barus & Holley building at 184 Hope St.
