People across the state saw the amazing Aurora Borealis — also known as the Northern Lights — in the sky Tuesday evening.
So, yes, we are seeing the Northern Lights more often, but it is nothing to be alarmed about. We are heading into another period of solar minimum over the next several years, so the frequency of opportunity for us to see them will be dwindling, at least until the mid-2030s or so.

According to the forecast, northern states bordering Canada - including Idaho, Montana, North Dakota and Washington state - have the best chances of catching a glimpse of the northern lights. However, it could be possible to glimpse the aurora from farther away.
