The family of an Irish woman killed in India nearly eight years ago say justice has "finally been achieved after" a 31-year-old local man was found guilty of her rape and murder.

A man has been found guilty in India of the rape and murder of Irish backpacker Danielle McLaughlin in 2017, her family’s solicitor has said. Local man Vikat Bhagat was found guilty at the District and Sessions Court in south Goa on Friday.
