Lawyers for the families who lost loved ones in the crashes of two 737 Max jets said the DOJ intends to drop all criminal charges against Boeing.

The Justice Department and Boeing could strike a deal that would avoid the company entering a guilty plea or prosecution. Boeing previously agreed to plead guilty to criminal fraud last year after the Biden Justice Department found the aerospace giant violated a 2021 agreement.

Friday, The Wall Street Journal reported that the Justice Department wouldn’t criminally prosecute the company or seek a guilty plea for charges relating to two deadly 737 MAX crashes in 2018 and 2019.
