Bengals director of player personnel Duke Tobin said Tuesday from the NFL Scouting Combine that the club can sign its big trio -- Tee Higgins, Ja'Marr Chase and Trey Hendrickson -- to long-term deals while adding free agents.
Most of the critics, it seems, just can't fathom how the Bengals might find the cash for Higgins, plus major extensions for Ja'Marr Chase and Trey Hendrickson. Naturally, this has led to speculation that the Bengals would still consider a tag-and-trade scenario if the right offer came along.
Not that it should register as much of a surprise, but Cincinnati Bengals defensive end Trey Hendrickson sounds like a possible third-place finisher for the team behind Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins when it comes to contract extensions.

Losing Hendrickson could be integral to keeping Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins — and a deeper look at his production could explain the Bengals' approach.
This is a 50-50. The Bengals want a youth movement across the defense and sophomores Kris Jenkins Jr. and McKinnley Jackson should see plenty of run. But if Hill has a quiet market, the team probably shouldn't dismiss the idea of bringing him back and keeping him in the rotation. He's 30 years old, so a short-term deal could be nice for both sides.
