He nearly guided it to a shootout, but Evan Bouchard tallied at 4:53 of overtime to end Montembeault's heroics. The 28-year-old netminder's four-game winning streak came to an end, and he's now at 22-21-4 with a 2.

Montembeault stopped 23 shots in Thursday's 4-3 overtime win over the Sharks. The Habs came out a little flat and poor defending led to two San Jose goals in the first period, but Montembeault kept his focus and got rewarded by Cole Caufield in OT.

The shutout was the third of the season for the 28-year-old goalie, who came into 2024-25 with only one career clean sheet, and the victory was his 20th of the campaign. Through six outings in February,
