No. 13 Vanderbilt visits the Memphis Tigers after Tyler Nickel scored 30 points in the Commodores' 83-72 win against the Central Arkansas Bears.

Vanderbilt has won 24 consecutive non-conference home games dating back to 2022. Under head coach Shea Ralph, Vanderbilt is 37-3 at Memorial Gymnasium. It will be the fifth time that Vanderbilt and South Florida have squared off. The Commodores are a perfect 4-0 in the all-time series.

Vanderbilt's Clark Lea won't be coaching in the College Football Playoff, but he was recognized for the Commodores' outstanding season.

The Vanderbilt football coach on Tuesday was named the 2025 Eddie Robinson national coach of the year, presented by the Football Writers Association of America and the Allstate Sugar Bowl. He will receive a bust of the late Robinson — a College Football Hall of Fame coach at Grambling for 55 years — at a reception in Miami on Jan. 17, 2026.

There are seven undefeated teams in men's college basketball. Those teams include the Commodores as well as Michigan, Duke, Arizona, Iowa State, Nebraska and Miami (Ohio). Iowa State and Nebraska are 11-0 and Arizona is 9-0. The other four teams are 10-0.
