And as the rain clouds loomed and the engines screamed, it was Shane van Gisbergen —already a road course sensation—who delivered a performance for the ages.

Josh Berry turned in the best road-course qualifying performance of his Cup career on Saturday as he posted the 13th-best speed in time trials for Sunday’s inaugural Viva Mexico 250 at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez in Mexico City.
