A strong cold front is approaching Houston, expected to bring scattered light showers in the afternoon and potentially severe storms during the evening commute.

End of Update-- The Storm Prediction Center in Houston/Galveston has issued a tornado watch for 13 counties in east and southeast Texas, including parts north and east of Harris County.
For the third weekend in a row, Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky are under a significant severe thunderstorm threat.
"TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building," the tornado warning said. "Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect yourself from flying debris."
Southeast Texas is under a tornado watch through 7 p.m. Friday. But the potential for severe weather is expected to continue through early next week. Jefferson, Hardin, Jasper, Orange and Newton counties were put under a tornado watch after noon Friday, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration said.
