The Apple CEO presented the president with a “unique” piece of glass held by 24-karat gold during a celebratory event Wednesday in the Oval Office.

Some of Apple’s most valuable parts, such as its glass and facial recognition sensor, are made by U.S. companies that Apple has worked with for years.

Trump announced "a very large tariff on chips and semiconductors," but said that companies investing in the U.S. like Apple would be exempted.
