Apple released iOS 27 on Monday, Sept. 14, and the update brings Siri AI and a few other upgrades to your device. After you download the update, it might seem like your iPhone’s battery is draining faster than usual, but don’t worry. Apple wrote online that this is normal and — most important — temporary.

Apple today released iOS 27 and iPadOS 27, the newest operating system updates for the iPhone and iPad. The software is available for free on all compatible devices, and can be downloaded over the air by going to Settings > General > Software Update.
This process could take a few hours or longer, but your iPhone will still work in that time.
However, Apple also warns that your use of your iPhone or iPad will continue to have an impact on the battery. If you’re exploring the new features from iOS 27, you may be a contributing factor in your device dying more quickly.
