Speaking a day after Trump’s inauguration, Ukraine’s president told world leaders at Davos that Europe needs to remain united and “learn how to take care of itself.”

Volodymyr Zelensky has warned European leaders Donald Trump will ignore them if the continent doesn’t take better care of its own defences.

At the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy called on Europe on Tuesday (January 21) to establish itself as a strong global player, saying it needed to be able to guarantee peace and security for itself and for others.

“I’m pretty comfortable with the market expectations for the upcoming two meetings,” the Dutch central banker told Bloomberg TV. “I’m not convinced yet that we need to go into stimulative mode.”
