World No. 54 Denis Shapovalov captured the Dallas Open title with a 7-6, 6-3 win over No. 5-ranked Casper Ruud in the final. It was the Canadian’s third win of the week over a top-10 player in the world after he defeated world No. 4 Taylor Fritz in the second round and No. 9-ranked Tommy Paul in the semifinal.

Unseeded Shapovalov became only the fifth player since 2020 to knock out the three top seeds on the way to an ATP title and just the fourth player since 2009 to beat three top-10 rivals on the way to a 250- or 500-level title.

Shapovalov bested Taylor Fritz, Tommy Paul and Casper Ruud en route to the title in Dallas. Denis and Casper played an entertaining final, and the younger player scored a 7-6, 6-3 victory in an hour and 40 minutes.
