Contact with the water at Woodward Reservoir is prohibited after Sept. 2 but Modesto Reservoir remains open without swimming restrictions.

Deputies have recovered the body of a 24-year-old man who was swimming at Woodward Reservoir on Sunday afternoon, the Stanislaus County Sheriff's Office said.

San Francisco resident Oscar Rafael Coello-Flores, 24, drowned in Woodward Reservoir in Stanislaus County 45 feet from the lake’s shore.
