Voters in Minneapolis went to the polls on Tuesday to cast their ballots for mayor, though the election will proceed to a second round of ranked choice voting since no candidate secured the majority of votes needed to win.

ABC News projects Democratic candidate Zohran Mamdani will win the race for New York City mayor, in a history-making victory over former Gov. Andrew Cuomo, a Democrat who was running as an independent, and Republican candidate Curtis Sliwa.

With all ballots counted in the first round, no St. Paul mayoral candidate garnered enough votes to prevent second-choice votes from being a deciding factor in the race.
