Meta AI fans on Android will soon be able to get to the chatbot more quickly via WhatsApp. A widget is in the works offering direct shortcuts to open the chat with the AI, send an image to it, or begin a voice chat.

Meta AI widget is now integrated into WhatsApp for Android, offering more AI tools for users. WhatsApp focuses on AI features with Meta's resources, but may need to expand the scope of efforts to catch up with competitors.

Meta has found another place to push its eponymous AI, after injecting it as a standalone chat character in the world’s most popular messaging app. The latest public beta build of WhatsApp now allows users to create a dedicated widget for Meta AI.

WhatsApp's new Meta AI widget is currently rolling out to beta testers and will be available to everyone in the coming months.
