Firefighters were called to Excel Recycling on Charlotte White Road for a “deep-seated fire” involving a large pile of recyclable materials.

A Fairfield ladder pipe and Westport police drone were also utilized due to the terrain, brush overgrowth and a burning ground-level powerline, Westport fire officials said.
