WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — Though the Vikings haven’t completely ruled out a scenario in which they reconnect with future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers, they appear content giving unproven quarterback J.J. McCarthy a chance to solidify himself as the starter this offseason.

Geno Smith resurrected his career as a starting quarterback in the NFL in Seattle, and now he's getting his reward. After heading to the Las Vegas Raiders this offseason via trade, Smith and the Raiders agreed to a two-year, $85.5 million contract extension that includes $66 million guaranteed.

Sophomore John Colvin will get work in as the lone non-scholarship quarterback going through spring exercises. He was a stellar quarterback at Mountain Brook High School, passing for over 4,400 yards and 50 touchdowns as a Spartan.
