The Monday morning Amazon Web Services outage impacted numerous applications and websites, including Snapchat, Starbucks, Wordle and more.

The leader in the cloud infrastructure market reported the outage citing an operational issue and said around 2 a.m. ET that it was working to accelerate the recovery.

There was a sharp rise in AWS users reporting issues with the website on Downdetector in the early hours of Monday morning.

Many of the world's biggest apps including Snapchat, Duolingo and Roblox have gone down, in what appears to be an issue affecting Amazon Web Services.
