Parts of the Pisgah National Forest reopened Oct. 18 although debris and fallen-tree cleanup continues after Tropical Storm Helene.

It took several months to clean up the river, clogged with debris from Helene, but the Elk River Falls Area in the Pisgah National Forest is back open.
