New Jersey's governor election is today, Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2025, with the latest polls in the governor race predicting Democrat Mikie Sherrill will win over Republican Jack Ciattarelli, although recent polls show NJ could flip red should Ciattarelli have a strong showing similar to the 2021 election.
The two governor’s contests are closely watched today, as is the outcome of a California redistricting measure. Bomb threats briefly closed some polling places in New Jersey, but officials said the threats weren’t credible.

Jack Ciattarelli, a former state legislator endorsed by President Donald Trump, is trying to become New Jersey’s first Republican governor since 2018. He faces U.S. Rep. Mikie Sherrill, a Democrat in her fourth term in Congress who would become the state’s second female governor if elected.
