The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries has scheduled a drawdown on Chicot Lake in Evangeline Parish for reduction of giant salvinia and for fish habitat improvement.

The LLCCF provided aid at Lake Chicot as well. Biologists met with volunteers after they collected materials for a massive number of artificial habitat structures, to begin assembling the structures.

The drawdown of Chicot Lake will begin Sept. 6 for vegetation control and to allow for bridge repairs.
