Scientists have created an incredibly detailed 3D brain map that you can zoom into like you're looking at Google Maps.

After reconstructing the scans to create a ‘brain map’ for each individual, the researchers discovered a link between the brain’s function and its shape or geometry.

Researchers have mapped the more than 500,000 connections in the intricate brain of a fruit fly larva. This map, they say, could help scientists figure out how learning changes the human brain, too.

The brain comprises almost 100 billion neurons and even more non-neuronal cells. These all are organized in the hundreds of distinct brain structures that govern a spectrum of functions.
