Those two fires were among 22 in the TCU September Lightning Complex, in Tuolumne and Calaveras counties. On Wednesday, six of them were 150 acres or larger. Cal Fire put the complex’s combined area at about 12,000 acres (19 square miles).
Parts of Vallecito, Douglas Flat and Murphys were included in the evacuation order for the 2-7 Fire, which by midafternoon Tuesday had burned 500 acres, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection. Another evacuation order covered a less populated area near Don Pedro Reservoir, where the 6-5 Fire had burned 3,000 acres.

A fire burning near Silverado Trail wineries prompted evacuation orders in Napa County. The Pickett Fire was reported around 3 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 21, off Pickett Road, near Calistoga. By Sunday morning, it had burned 6,803 acres (10.6 square miles) with 11% containment, the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection said.
