A winter storm is bringing snow and gusty winds, creating difficult travel conditions on Chicago roads and at airports Monday.

Snow and strong winds are creating hazardous conditions across the Chicago area, with blizzard warnings in some counties. Totals of 2 to 6 inches are expected, with the highest amounts northwest of the city.

Several hours of “pretty intense snowfall” will drop upwards of seven inches of snow Monday in parts of the Chicago area, the NBC 5 Storm Team said, as a blizzard warning and winter weather advisories in Illinois continue.
