Peninsula State Park's largest campground is set for much-needed upgrades to its failing 58-year-old toilet and shower facilities after funding for the work was approved by the state.

This month construction will start on six new shower and restroom facilities at Burlingame State Campground in Charlestown.

The announcement affects modern restrooms and showers and rental cabins. Additionally, campgrounds will be open for all types of campers including RVs, pop-ups and tents.
