Following months of deliberation, South Korea’s Constitutional Court will decide this week whether to uphold the legislature’s impeachment of President Yoon Suk Yeol over his brief imposition of martial law in December and formally remove him from office or restore his presidential powers.

South Korean acting President Han Duck-soo on Wednesday called for the public to "calmly and coolly" accept the forthcoming Constitutional Court verdict on the impeachment of President Yoon Suk Yeol.

South Korea's Constitutional Court, which is reviewing President Yoon Suk Yeol's impeachment, will announce its decision on whether to remove him from office permanently or reinstate him on April 4, the court said in a statement on Tuesday.
