The Williamson County and Cities Health District has found mosquitoes with West Nile virus in a mosquito trap in Leander's Devine Lake Park. This is the first positive trap in the country for 2025, but last month a person in southern Williamson County tested positive for the disease.

West Nile virus has been found in a mosquito in New Bedford. According to the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, the sample was found in the area of Oak Grove Cemetery The state’s local risk level for West Nile remains low. The Bristol County Mosquito Project will conduct additional ground-spraying early Thursday morning.

The Denver Department of Public Health and Environment announced Monday that the city's first human case of West Nile virus this season has been confirmed. Officials in Jefferson County have also confirmed their first human cases of the virus,
