Waymo has begun offering autonomous robotaxi service using freeways for the first time in select cities in California and Arizona, the company announced.The Mountain View, Calif.-based company said its robotaxis began using freeways in the San Francisco Bay Area,
Waymo didn’t say much about the move, but confirmed they’ll begin welcoming riders to use freeways in Phoenix, Los Angeles, and the San Francisco Bay Area. The company will apparently take a gradual approach as they noted freeway access will be granted to a “growing number of public riders.”
The driverless taxi company will begin offering rides on freeways for the first time in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Phoenix.
Waymo announced Wednesday that its self-driving vehicles have received the green light to offer rides on San Francisco Bay Area, Phoenix and Los Angeles freeways.
