Throughout the two-hour event in Muncie, those in the audience shouted out comments — and, in some cases, jeers — as the Republican congresswoman spoke.

Spartz, who represents Indiana’s Fifth Congressional District, is the first Ukrainian-born person to serve in congress and voiced some support for NATO during the nearly two-hour meeting.

The NRCC told members in early March not to hold town halls. Spartz faced hundreds on Friday in Westfield and is scheduled to visit Muncie Saturday.
