An attack by an alleged Islamic State member in Syria has killed two U.S. service members and one American civilian.

President Donald Trump said the United States will retaliate after three U.S. military personnel – two Army soldiers and a civilian interpreter – were killed by a suspected Islamic State attacker. The U.S. military said the attacker targeted a convoy of American and Syrian forces.

President Trump said in a Truth Social post that it was an "ISIS attack against the U.S." and Syria and that there will be "very serious retaliation."
