The Tulane football program is dealing with the arrest of TJ Finley, a transfer who was competing for the starting QB job.

Louisiana quarterback TJ Finley signed with LSU alongside Max Johnson as part of the program’s two-man recruiting class in 2020. Six seasons later, Finley has used the NCAA’s Transfer Portal to play for four programs before choosing to return home and join the Tulane football team ahead of the 2025 season.

TJ Finley’s attorneys say the quarterback was defrauded by those who sold him the vehicle and is cooperating with authorities.

Tulane will conclude the remainder of its college football spring practice period without TJ Finley. The 23-year-old quarterback is suspended indefinitely
